About the future
Hi class!
Today I’ll tell you about what I think about my
future and my future job. Well, I’m studying sociology, a career that doesn’t
have specialism in the University of Chile. For all, I like the area related
with the environmental problems and I like the public sector jobs. Consequently,
I’ll like to work in the environment’s department or a ministry. I’m
interesting in socio-environmental conflict and its relation with the State,
but specifically, I would like to work in the area of public policies to
confront this kind of conflicts. I think my future job will need to be indoors,
but outdoors too in some cases, because probably I’ll must to do much fieldwork
and work with the local communities concerned in that kinds of problems.
About the salary…I don’t know, I just hope that
I will get enough money to live. I mean, to pay a rent, to buy healthy food, to
take holidays, etc., anything too expensive of course. But I would like to live
near of the place where I will work because I hate the extensive travels every
day.
About a major I would like to take in the
future, I think is related with public policies or social research, because I like
this areas and I think that are sufficiently general to giving me different possibilities
of jobs.

Hi! That´s a great job, working in the environmental area must be wonderfull, especially of the social perspective. I think that social cientist have some much to say about this conflict, we can contributed some much! I hope you do it!
